New Vision University Wellbeing Center ensures access to mental health support, promoting prevention and early intervention, and fostering a culture of wellbeing within the student community.
- Individual consultations conducted – 1057
- Thematic workshops for mental health open to the public
Education and Skills for Health Professionals (Target 3.c)
New Vision University Clinical Skills Laboratory and Training Center aims to improve the practical skills of medical and non-medical staff for the preservation of human life and health. The Center implements the following international and national certification programs:
- Basic Life Support Algorithm (BLS);

Tobacco-Free University and Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle – Targets 3.a and 3.5
New Vision University promotes a healthy lifestyle and well-being by providing students and staff with diverse opportunities for physical activity and sports at all levels. The University supports both indoor and outdoor activities, encourages participation regardless of prior experience, and offers access to sports clubs, coaching, and facilities such as the Eco-Campus sports ground. Regular initiatives like “New Vision Wednesday” further foster an active campus culture through weekly sporting events. In addition, NVU maintains a tobacco-free campus and emphasizes the positive impact of physical activity on mental health, stress reduction, academic performance, and social inclusion, thereby contributing to the overall well-being of its community.
Research and Innovation for Health – Target 3.c
New Vision University supports SDG3 not only through clinical services and preventive programmes, but also by investing in health research and innovation. These activities strengthen the knowledge base for better health outcomes and align with SDG 3.c (health workforce & research) and SDG 9 (industry, innovation & infrastructure).
NV-Genetics Molecular Laboratory: Georgia’s first molecular-diagnostics centre offering on-site tumour profiling via Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).
Research laboratories – including the Zeiss Microscopy Education & Research Center, Biomedicine & Hematology Labs, and the Genetics Research Center – serve as platforms for researchers, students and early-career researchers to engage in health science projects.
Translational Health Science: By combining laboratory diagnostics, molecular research, and clinical service (via NVU Hospital), NVU builds a model of translational health science — from gene-level insights to patient care pathways. For example, NV-Genetics’ use of NGS tumour profiling enables more accurate therapy decisions for oncology patients.
NV-Genetics serves oncology patients through tumour-profiling services — making precision medicine accessible in Georgia.
SDG3 Summary – Targets Addressed and Impact
